The 25 most valuable sports teams in the world

Last year Forbes published a list of the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world. The list has 26 football teams, 9 soccer teams, 9 basketball teams, and 6 baseball teams.

COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t been kind to major sports in many aspects. Seasons have been shortened. Tournaments have been canceled. And many games from Major League Baseball to international soccer were played in empty stadiums.

The pandemic may have wreaked havoc on the sports world, but wealthy sports teams owners are flourishing, as the average valuation of the world’s most valuable sports teams has risen by 9.9% to $3.4 billion.

Although they may have lost the revenue generated from selling tickets due to empty stadiums, these most valuable sports teams in the world reaped big from TV and cable broadcasting, sponsorships, merchandising and licensing deals.
